Oostrozebeke Station

Stationsstraat no. 161. Former station built in 1868 for the Ingelmunster-Anzegem connection. The permit for the railways dates back to 1864. The Ingelmunster-Anzegem railway line was opened in 1868 and is of great importance for the transport of flax in the Leie region. It belongs to the so-called Est-Belge type, executed by the Société Générale d'Exploitation. Similar station buildings have been established in Haaltert, Pervijze, and Vichte. After World War II, the railway is used only for freight transport. In the 1970s, the line is permanently abandoned. The building is currently being restored and converted into a residence. The building is located slightly at the back of an asphalted square and is oriented perpendicularly to the street. Brown brick construction consisting of a central wing of two floors and three bays flanked by two lower wings of two bays. All wings under gable roofs (mechanical tiles). Application of some neoclassical elements such as the round-arched openings, corner chains, and paneling. On the right side facade, the mention of the stop "OOSTROOSEBEKE" can still be seen.
