Monumental mill, visually defining for the surroundings and a landmark of Turnhout. Smock mill with a brick tub, consisting of four floors, under strongly dilapidated, rounded cap; formerly used as a corn mill, oil (lard) and bark mill. Mention around the fourth quarter of the 14th century of a wooden post mill, owned by the castle of Turnhout; formerly with a moated motte, connected with the ditch "meirgoren"; replaced in 1462 by a new post mill with horse mill; after the fire of around 1776.
