Monastery with a reflection house called "Abdij Roosenberg." This religious institution of the Mariazusters van Franciscus, with its mother monastery located at Kerkstraat in Waasmunster, derives its name from the dissolved Roosenberg Abbey of Waasmunster. In the first period of its history (1238-1797), this abbey of Victorine sisters was established near the village center next to the Durme. After the abolition and demolition, the Victorine abbey came back to life only in 1831 at another location in the village (Kerkstraat number 32). In 1975, the Roosenberg Abbey ceased to exist when the last remaining Victorine sisters united with the Mariazusters van Franciscus. This also prompted the construction of a new monastery where, in addition to a place of reflection, the abbey museum and archive of the former Roosenberg Abbey have since found a home.
