School complex with municipal banquet hall "Den Akker", located on the corner of Diestsesteenweg and Kortakker. Complex building history, phased whole of separate components with late 19th-, early 20th-century school buildings (numbers 324 and 326-328) on the steenweg (south), party room and school buildings behind it to the north (at Kortakker). The first buildings (now probably no longer preserved) took place around 1848 and 1850. In 1874, the current number 326 cadastral was probably registered with the mention "town hall + school", built and occupied in 1873. In 1899, at number 328, the current building (replacing an older building) was realized on a U-shaped floor plan, the open side at the back, a central passage, and a detached rear building. The legger mentions here two houses (on either side of the - now closed - passage) and warehouse, built by Robeyns-Vertessen, shopkeeper. The number 324, in the cadastral legger "gemeenteschool" is registered in 1906, as "reconstruction partielle" of an older building. The same year, the number 326 was changed to a teacher's house (again according to the cadastral layer). The school wing behind, across the stone road, was registered in 1940. The U-shaped floor plan of number 328 was undone around 1966, when the demolition of the wing parallel to the Kortakker was recorded. The buildings at the back of the plot of number 328 (north) were registered in 1985, at the same time as the construction of the current den Akker banquet hall, against the rear façade of number 328.
