House Verschooren and perfumery Fraver

The Verschooren family, owner of the perfume company Fraver established in 1947, engages Braem in 1962 for a multi-faceted assignment. Initially, he is asked to design a new factory and an adjacent director's house for son Jozef Verschooren in Kontich. This company site is intended to replace the former location on VIIde Olympiadelaan in Kiel, Antwerp. Subsequently, he receives a commission from father Frans Verschooren, the founder of the company, for the design of a new private residence in the Oosterveld neighborhood of Wilrijk. A building permit for the factory and the director's house is issued at the end of August 1962. The three sites are commenced shortly afterward in July, August, and October 1962 by the same contractor and completed during the course of 1963. Disputes regarding the delivery, invoicing, and payment necessitate a legal procedure that drags on until 1966.
