Contemporary Administrative and Cultural Centre of Mol. In 1898-1899, Louis van Dooren's woollen blanket factory was founded here, an imposing ensemble consisting of a three-storey high construction on the Molenstraat, factory halls under raekem roofs at the back and a high factory fireplace. Erected near the Nete for washing the wool. The factory was equipped for spinning, weaving, dyeing and dressing; a major speciality were the Jacquard blankets and fantasy items, the sales of which were mainly focused on the Belgian Congo after the First World War. Industrial activities ceased in 1970.
