Farm with loose components

Reconstruction farm designed by architects E. Richir and G. Veraart (Brussels), based on regional farm construction; see arrangement: grouping of separate, low components, namely farmhouse, stable, cross barn, and former cart shed, respectively located to the northwest, southwest, southeast, and northeast of an asphalted yard with defining bricks and cobbled sidewalks; to the south, asphalted driveway, marked by brick gate pillars with rounded tops, hop trellis to the left of the driveway; planting: drinking trough, surrounded by pollarded willows, to the right of the driveway; central ornamental garden; materials: anchored, red brick construction; mechanical and Flemish tiles for roofing: gable roof on farmhouse and cart shed; curved gable roof on stable and barn wing, respectively provided with triangular roof window with wind boards and a rounded barn door under a canopy; dormer windows under a hipped tiled gable roof at farmhouse and cart shed; "tradition-bound", renewed wooden work with large grid division at the farmhouse; layout: farmhouse leaning towards the elongated type, see left positioned horse stable and feed kitchen; stable wing with pigsties, barn section, and central threshing floor; cross barn with potato cellar on the left and stable section on the right; cow stalls with three-part cart shed to the right, featuring three gates - of which two are bricked up - under a rounded relieving arch.
