The hamlet of Daniëlsweert or Ridderweert, originally an island in the Meuse, and the Damien belonged to the Teutonic Order in Alden Biesen; the Damien was sold to the Lambrechts family in 1774. When in 1740 the Meuse took its new course, the Damien came to lie on the left bank. The Damiaan was a skipper's inn on the Meuse, where the last professional fisherman later lived. The inhabitants of the Damiaan maintained a ferry service with Visserweert. Detached building with old core, probably from the first half of the 18th century. Highly restored. The main building consists of two parts that are clearly distinguished by a construction seam and a ridge height difference. Brick building under a gable roof (Flemish tiles) with a wolf's end on the right. Two markers in the façade (1926 and 1880). The limestone corner bands are authentic. The left part is the main house and has four bays; The right bay is the upstairs room. The adjoining part was a stable and barn; The round-arched gate in the right side wall is not original. The windows and door of the house are in their original position, but their present form does not correspond to the original one. In place of the brick, round-arched stable door, there is now a bluestone framed door. Side walls with canopy and wickerwork. The adjacent, lower service building seems recent.
