The then owner of Hof te Cattebeke, Georges Thienpont, was also the owner and therefore landlord of Villa Tynlon where Valerius De Saedeleer and his family moved in 1921. Valerius De Saedeleer probably ended up in Etikhove through earlier contacts between the Thienpont family and Gustave Van de Woestijne, a good friend of De Saedeleer.
The historic farm "Hof te Cattebeke" was first mentioned in 1517. The estate has been in the hands of the Thienpont family since 1792. The wine cellars on the estate date from 1880; In 1842, the famous wine trade was founded.
