Castle Achtendries, also known as Castle Voorde. Current castle built in classical style on the remains of an older structure (visible in the basement) dating back to the late Middle Ages. The toponym "achtene," which is believed to have a prehistoric origin, is also connected to a manor at Achtendries dating from before 630. The castle used to be surrounded by a moat and also had a driveway that connected it to the court of Achtene. The only remaining testimony of this old tenant farm is a round, brick gate pillar in the nearby street called Achtene.
