Baron de Maerelaan number 28. Interbellum house with sober façade, built in 1926 to a design by the Ghent architects Geo Boutelier and Geo Henderick. The planning application provides for a house with, as it were, a raised neck gable and extensive, Art Deco-tinted façade elaboration; presumably later rebuilt in simplified form. Present two-part brick façade on the ground floor with a wide, basket-arched façade, which was originally elaborated with woodwork with small rod divisions cf. picture postcard. The three left bays, conceived as risalites, are emphasized by a white-plastered balcony on a stepped console, which once bore the name of the establishment. Renewed joinery.
