Castle Speltinckx, formerly also called "Villa Vital" (confer old postcards). Situated on the north side of Meersemdries on the site of disappeared and formerly walled castle of Jamoigne. Shown on the map of Deventer (circa 1560) and Horenbault (1619), depicted by Hondius (1641) with mention of "Domus Domini Baronis de Jamoigne". According to land registry data, speltinckx castle was built on the old foundations in 1899. Burned out in 1918, the castle was rebuilt circa 1920 while retaining the structural work but without gables and tower that were previously provided with beautiful woodwork.
