Hof te Schiebeek

So-called Hof te Schiebeek, toponym indicating the border Herne-Vollezele and Herne-Tollembeek; formerly dependent on the local Carthusian monastery, first mentioned in 1350. In its current form, a closed farmhouse with a paved courtyard, dating from the last quarter of the 18th century. To the east, gatehouse with sandstone round-arched entrance gate and dovecote, dated 1785 by year anchors. Left annex with mouse's tooth, dated 1822 by anchoring. To the north is the five-bay, one-and-a-half-storey and two-storey farmhouse with rectangular wall openings, a loading window and a bell rider on the tiled gable roof. Cowshed with mouse-tooth frieze and trough vaults and a second driveway incorporated into the wing. Opposite the gatehouse is the longitudinal barn, the older core of which is indicated by the strongly projecting brick plinth and by a sandstone arched door with a brick and sandstone lintel alternating in the Hainaut way. On a plaque with plough and harrow is written 17 BIW 92. Outside the courtyard, a second older barn in mullioned and mullioned with brick infill and wolf roof. Former brewery with bricked stone from 1652. To the left of the second entrance, two bluestone fence pillars with vase crowning, dating from the 18th century. Some of the meadows on the street side are fenced off.
