Bouckenborgh Castle was built as a country residence for the wealthier Antwerp class. The domain has been mentioned in old writings since 1532. The current castle was built in 1810. At the beginning of the 20th century, the castle was converted into a retirement home, then a school and now a cultural centre. The accompanying park has been transformed into a public park.
