Description

At this cross we follow the road towards the church of Oombergen. In the time of the Romans, this must have been a gentleman's road.

The cross at the corner of the crossroads, now the territory of Herzele (Hillegem) is still one of the former border crosses, which were also used as a landmark during snowy winter days. The crosses were put on during the 'days of the cross', when the priest went to consecrate the fields.
