Parish established from the parish of Rumbeke and the Roeselare Sacred Heart parish on December 27, 1935.
Building block located between Meensesteenweg, Kerklaan, and Karabinierstraat. Church at the corner/Kerklaan. In Karabinierstraat no. 1 rectory, designed by J. Callant from 1936. Steps lead to a forecourt marked with brick flower boxes. At the NE corner, a crucifix with the inscription "In memory of the Casteele Loontjens family 1922 Eternal permission," surrounded by cypress trees. Some beeches near the church. Neoromanesque cross-shaped church designed by J. Callant (Beernem) from 1936 (cf. commemorative stone); consecrated in 1939. Partially destroyed during WWII; restored after 1944.
Cruciform ground plan with an east portal, a baptismal chapel in the north transept, choir with three-sided closure to the west. Sacristy to the north of the choir, storage to the south. Square tower between the north transept and the sacristy. Base of dark Boomse façade stone; red Boomse brick; adorned with hard stone. Structure of reinforced concrete. Volumes under gable roofs with black Flemish tiles, side portals under flat roofs, apse under a copper roof with a lower service corridor under tiled roof.
Gatehouse with a profiled round-arch gate with a niche above containing a statue of St. Henry. Gable of the central nave provided with a five-light window, with a cross at the top. Nave of two bays. Nave, transept, and tower equipped with three lights on the sides. Square tower under a copper tent roof, square brick clock face, three paired round-arched bell openings.
Interior of pale brick on a base of dark brick. Nave and transept under cross vaults. Choir under a cross vault with an apse under a semicircular vault (1051, 1052).
Furniture. Stations of the Cross by A. Lambrecht (Rumbeke). Oak wooden statues of XX A: St. Anne teaching Mary to read, St. Joseph with Child, Jesus on the cross. Statue of St. Henry and Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception by Dupon (Bruges). Side and main altars by K. Lateur. Relics of St. Henry, Faustus, and Generosius embedded in the main altar. Non-figurative stained glass windows. Organ from the firm Loncke (Zarren), 1969.
