Description

Until 1951, the cemetery of Schepdaal surrounded the church. During the move, the field of honour with the graves of the veterans of the First World War was also moved. Even though they had all survived the war, some died very young from the hardship they had suffered at the front.

Here is also the grave of Petrus Antonius Mostinckx, who was already 84 years old in 1914. So he wasn't a soldier. but he was shot dead on 30 August 1914 by a German soldier on the Chaussée de Ninove. The old man had gone out into the street to wait for his grandson.
