The Valley of the Hoëgne is a Natura 2000 site in the Belgian municipality of Sart in the province of Liège. The area is 610 hectares and is located along the banks of the Hoëgne.Leonard Legras, chairman of the Sart attractions, was the promoter for the construction of the walk. On 29 September, at the time of the opening, Queen Marie-Henriette visited the nature reserve. She often rode on horseback through these woods. One of the waterfalls got her name, the larger one that of her husband Leopold II.
