Since the XIVth century, the Parc de la Boverie has been one of the favourite places in Liège to stroll around. This public park and its Jardin d'Acclimatation were created in the second part of the XIXth century by G. Blonden who decided in 1874 to take down some animal cages, restaurants and booths and remplace them by trees and lawns. The site was partially transformed into a garden, well known for its roses and pergolas. When the park hosted the 1905 Universal Exhibition, the 'Palais des Beaux Arts' was added. Today, it is home to the Musée de la Boverie, a fine museum of art and an international exhibition centre.
