Saint-Servais Church in Berneau
The Church of Berneau, built between 1846 and 1847 by Mr. Berleur from Verviers, is a neoclassical building made of bricks and limestone, featuring a square tower extended by a three-nave ship, ending with a flat-chested choir.
This building is especially known for its classified organ, which you can admire from the nave although access is difficult. This instrument, attributed to the Molinghen brothers, organ builders from Mortier, is the most important of their production and also one of the best designed. It dates from the mid-19th century. For organological, aesthetic, and cultural reasons, this organ, a testament to the local organ-building art, was classified in 1991.
Visiting the building will also allow you to admire an altarpiece from the second half of the 18th century, a confessional from the mid-18th century; baptismal fonts, with the basin dating from 1576, as well as many other treasures.
Access to the church for self-guided visits is possible during opening hours (excluding worship services). Guided tours can be arranged upon request.
