The spa baths of Spa are wellness baths in Spa in the Belgian province of Liège. Since 2021, they have been on the UNESCO World Heritage List as part of the Historical Spa Towns of Europe. In the 16th century, the commercialization of the thermal baths began, attracting many spa guests to Spa. The quality of the waters from the Pouhon spring was praised, among others, by Gilbert Fusch, the personal physician of the Prince-Bishops of Liège, Jean Fabre, and Henri de Heers. As a result, Spa became increasingly popular as a spa resort among the nobility, the affluent bourgeoisie, and traveling officers of various nationalities. The water from Spa was even bottled and exported in the 17th century.
