Castle and domain Bouckenborgh -- Already in the Middle Ages, the Bredabaan was the most important connecting road to the north and therefore extra popular for building country houses. These functioned as country residences for the wealthier class from Antwerp. Bouckenborgh Castle is an example of this. The name is a corruption of beech castle or beech mountain. In the park you will find stately beech avenues. The current castle was built in late classical style in 1810. It is now used as a cultural and youth centre.
