The Sint-Eligius Church is the parish church of the place De Leeuw, which belongs to the West Flanders municipality of Zedelgem. The church is dedicated to Eligius, also known as Elooi. De Leeuw has grown from the industry of Claeys. In 1938, a parish was established, and a temporary church was set up in Claeys' bicycle factory. This temporary church had to give way to factory expansion in 1950, and a new temporary church was taken into use in a boys' school.
