Built in 1994, the 'ruin' of the Castle of Gavere refers to the lost castle site of the lords of Gavere. Over the centuries, these lords held sway over numerous places, including Nevele, Zingem and the area of the Zwalm. If you stop in Gavere, try the Tonnekens beer, which is brewed in the local Contreras brewery.
