It is mainly fishermen and their family members who visit the Fishermen's Chapel to pray for a safe return. This chapel, dedicated to Our Lady of the Dunes, was around 1710 nothing more than a small chapel on a stake on a lonely sandy road. From 1717 onwards, there was a large influx of people. With the money from the donation box, a small shelter for the statue could then be built. The current chapel dates from 1736 and offers more protection in harsh weather conditions.
