Between 1710 and 1715, a wooden Madonna was placed along the access road to the dunes. In 1717, a wooden chapel was established, which was replaced by a brick version in 1736. It is a simple building under a gabled roof with a pointed facade, which features the facade stones 1736 and W.G.M. The interior is vaulted with a barrel vault. There is a neo-Gothic altar and, since it is a pilgrimage site, there are also numerous ex-votos in the chapel, as well as images of lifeboats. The pilgrimage was especially popular among fishermen. Even today, a pilgrimage to the chapel is still held every third Sunday in May.
