The current tree stock of the Canada forest is about a century old and consists mainly of pedunculate oak and sweet chestnut. In the 1970s, this forest was taken over by weekend stays, but almost all of them have disappeared. Just like the Sixtus forest, the Bardelenbos and the Dozighembos, this forest belongs to a fragmented forest complex that is usually referred to as the Sixtus forests.
