In the far west of the province of Namur, atop a rock at the confluence of the Eau d'Heure and the Yves, lies the fortified town of Walcourt. The main attraction in this town is undoubtedly the Saint-Maternus Basilica. The tower of this Gothic pilgrimage church rises 63 meters above the town. Inside, one can discover a beautiful organ loft dating back to 1531 and, of course, the miraculous statue of Our Lady of Walcourt. The 10th-century wooden statue is one of the oldest in Belgium.
