There are stately Indian chestnut trees on the British Soldaatlaan
Indian chestnuts
The difference between the husks of the Indian chestnut and the common chestnut tree is that those of the common 'horse chestnut' have spines and those of the Indian chestnut tree do not. The husks have a dark brown exterior with lighter dots. On the inside, in which the chestnut lies, the skin is light brown. And inside, it's soft and beautiful. They give a very soft feeling.
An Indian chestnut tree can grow up to 20 meters high in nature. The Indian chestnut tree is a strong tree and an ideal street tree.
