The Sint-Catharinkerk is a 19th-century church building in the center of the Belgian Limburg city of Maaseik. The church is the main parish church of Maaseik, dedicated to Catherine of Alexandria, and houses an important church treasure that includes the Codex Eyckensis.
The current Sint-Catharinkerk is the second or third church on this site. The oldest church likely dates back to 1245, when the parish of Maaseik was established. The predecessor of the current church was a single-naved, Gothic building made of marlstone. The nave was supported by five buttresses and had pointed arch windows. In the 16th century, the church was enlarged, and in the 17th century, the choir was rebuilt. The heavy, square tower, which was rebuilt only in 1596, was likely a remnant of an older Romanesque church. The tower housed the entrance to the church. The tower was topped with a low spire and had a parapet.
