The Scheldt is the mighty river that splits the Flemish Ardennes in two. Three routes have been mapped out throughout the valley of the Upper Scheldt, between Kluisbergen and Ghent. The course is almost flat. This way we can also explore this region without having to get out of the saddle on steep slopes. The Scheldt valley route 1 explores the northern part of the Upper Scheldt, between Zwijnaarde (Ghent) and Gavere, with a run-up route from Ghent's Sint-Pieters station.
