Drongengoedroute

Source: Toerisme Oost-Vlaanderen

Description

This cycle route passes through three Meetjesland forests: Het Leen, the Keigatbos and the Drongengoedbos. The latter is the largest contiguous forest area in East Flanders. The route starts at the historic Drongengoedhoeve, founded by the monks of the abbey of Drongen, who came to cultivate the heathlands in this region. The landscape surprises, because it is slightly hilly. after all, the Drongengoed is located on a high clay ridge.
