Since 1972, father and son Fol have been involved in wine. Here one can already speak of a tradition. Since 1992, the wine has been commercialized and adorns the menu of several top restaurants. Father Maurice Fol can rightly be called one of the driving forces behind the wine scene in the Hageland. Maurice has set up projects in which improving the quality of Hageland wines was a priority. He has already received several awards for his wines.
The Reuter agency published an article about these wines in all English-language newspapers in the world. And several TV stations also showed interest. As a result, it became known throughout the world that Belgium had also become a wine country again.
To celebrate their thirtieth anniversary in 1992, they have since been offering a new product with which they were proclaimed Pioneer of 2004 at the Horecabeurs in Ghent. It is a "Wine Eau de Vie" of 40% alcohol volv, called FLO that has been aged for three years in oak. The distillation was carried out by the Smeets distillery from Hasselt.
