Between the Aa and the Slootbeek lies Den Haert, a landscape with oak forests, wooded edges and rows of trees that line the fields and meadows. Little owl, black woodpecker and stonechat find a home here. The wide variety of plants and mushrooms arose thanks to the alternation of old and young forests on dry and wet soil. In addition to its cultural value, Den Haert is also of great importance in terms of landscape and especially cultural history. In the western part of this area lies 'Den Ouden Hofberg'. This is an artificial defensive hill on the meander of the river.
