The Cotthem walking route starts on the immense market square of Sint-Lievens-Houtem, known for its annual market. This rural municipality is located at the foot of the 83 meter high Balei hill. On the flanks of that slope lies the sympathetic hamlet of Cotthem, which gave its name to this route. We walk on a Roman road and numerous church and footpaths. We also honour the villages of Oombergen (Zottegem) and Hillegem (Herzele) with a visit along the way.
