Reed swamp
At first glance, mainly reeds grow in the reed swamp. But among the reeds there are special plants such as wire sedge. Wild gale, a shrubby plant, also feels at home in this environment. It blooms in spring and is then adorned with a typical, reddish-brown color. Both the leaves and the flowers emit a resinous scent. In the beer Gageleer you recognize this typical smell.
The bluethroat finds its ideal habitat here. From mid-March you can find this small thrush with its blue breast here.
Don't get into the swamp. Due to the many marshy lows and pits, this is very dangerous. The vegetation is also very vulnerable.
