If the original plans had gone through, you would not now be cycling along this extensive strip of green. Indeed, in the 1970s, the intention was to install a large main road here. This would have connected the existing N9 from Zellik with the De Smet de Naeyerlaan (Boulevard De Smet de Naeyer) in Jette.
However, in 1977, the district of Jette decided to design a park on the marshy land around the Molenbeek instead. Work continued until 1989 to connect various natural areas and create this King Baudouin Park.
TIP: From this park follow the route past Albert Park to Keizer Karellaan (Avenue Charles-Quint). Be careful when crossing this busy road!
