The Holzwarche Valley Nature Reserve is a Natura 2000 site in the Belgian province of Liège, near the villages of Mürringen and Rocherath in the municipality of Büllingen, right on the border with Germany. The nature conservation organisation Natagora/BNVS began in 1978 with the purchase of land that is very biologically valuable. The areas consist of species-rich, extensively managed, wet meadows. The Holzwarchetal nature reserve has a high biodiversity, as the land was only cultivated in the traditional way. It is also a very vulnerable area and can only be preserved with targeted protection measures. Today, the Holzwarche Valley falls under the European Union's Birds and Habitats Directive.
