Want to whizz in and out of the city Brussels-style? Just follow this cycle path along the canal.
The RV1 'Au fil de l’eau' (literally ‘along the water’) is one of Brussels’ long distance cycle trails. It is a fast escape route towards Pajottenland. Continue southwards for 129 km and you will end up in Chimay. In the other direction you will be in the centre in under 20 minutes.
At Anderlecht lock you can leave the trail for a moment for a lovely section of Brussels’ rarely revealed river Zenne. Cross the bridge and go right on Akenkaai (Quai des Péniches). After about 50 metres turn left and you will reach the river Zenne.
