The Castle Le Paige is a castle in the north of Herentals. The castle has an arboretum. The whole is called Domain Le Paige, referring to the Le Paige family that owned it for a long time.
The Le Paige family was an important family for Herentals. At the beginning of the 18th century, the first family member settled in Herentals: doctor François Thomas Le Paige, who became a porter there in 1726. The land of the Domaine Le Paige originally belonged to the city fortifications, but became the property of the family in 1775: Jean Baptist Le Paige then acquired it as a cijnsgoed and turned it into a pleasure garden. At the birth of Henri Le Paige, later mayor of Herentals, on 21 November 1806, 30 oak trees were planted.
