Located in western Calestienne, south of the Virelles pond, the site stretches along the N939 road and consists of a calcareous grassland belonging to the municipality of Chimay. Although relatively small in area, this grassland has botanical interest due to the presence of rare plants such as cut-leaved self-heal (Prunella laciniata) and also hosts various interesting insect species. This type of habitat is currently very rare in the region and is often found in isolated fragments, contributing to their depletion. The Virelles grassland does not have any protection status.
