This site is divided into two highly similar parts. One is located around the western part of the former Blaton-Péronnes canal and the other at its bend. The two parts are mainly composed of poplar groves that cover swampy alder forests, white willow groves, and floodplain alder-ash forests. Remnants of these habitats can be found in certain places. There is also a young poplar grove recently planted at the location known as 'Bas Vivier', in which two ponds have been dug, surrounded by hydrophilic plants and megaphorbia.
