The Heid de Dieupart is located on the left bank of the Amblève a little upstream from Aywaille, dominating from its height of 200 meters above the small church of the hamlet of Dieupart. Belonging to the limestone Famenne (also known as "Calestienne"), this hill rests on Frasnian limestones that outcrop in many places. It also contains several karstic cavities as well as a chantoire. Much less prestigious than the Heid des Gattes which faces it on the other side of the valley, the site, largely forested, nonetheless presents various interesting aspects, particularly in terms of flora and fauna. Several sensitive habitats are listed there: calcareous grasslands, thermophile thickets, ravine forests, bat caves, etc. Designated as a site of biological interest within the framework of the Aywaille communal nature development plan, the Heid de Dieupart and its various habitats are managed by Ardenne & Gaume, a very active association in the protection of the regional natural heritage.
