This ancient pond extends to the south of the locality of Kelmis-La Calamine, along the Gueule. It is bordered by varied vegetation including willow beds, bulrushes, and reed beds that are very attractive to the local and migratory marsh birdlife (water rail, reed warblers, snipe, ...). Several uncommon plant species can be found here, including false rice (Leersia oryzoides), a grass that is in sharp decline in Wallonia and which finds its only location in the Country of Herve here. To the west of the body of water, there is also an interesting calamine spoil heap.
Public access: Walking path around the pond.
Type: Site of Great Biological Interest (SGIB)
