The moated castle "Ter Beken" was built in the 18th century on the Drongen-Mariakerke border, on the site of a feudal manor that belonged to the lord of der Beken, lord of Drongen. At the beginning of the 20th century, the Ghent industrialist Armand Casier becomes the owner of Ter Beken and has it restored. During both world wars, it suffers significant damage. Until today, it is owned by the Diocese of Ghent, which established it as the so-called St. Paul’s Seminary in 1955. Among the interior, the beautifully decorated salons in Empire and Rococo style are particularly noteworthy.
