Die ummauerte Burg "Ter Beken" wurde im 18. Jahrhundert an der Grenze Drongen-Mariakerke erbaut, an der Stelle einer feudalen Burg, die im Besitz des Herren von der Beken, Herrn von Drongen, war. Anfang des 20. Jahrhunderts wird der Gentser Industrielle Armand Casier der Eigentümer von Ter Beken und lässt es restaurieren. Während der beiden Weltkriege erleidet es großen Schaden. Bis heute befindet es sich im Besitz des Bistums Gent, das es 1955 als das sogenannte St. Paulsseminar einrichtete. Von der Inneneinrichtung sind insbesondere die prächtig eingerichteten Salons im Empire- und Rokokostil erwähnenswert.
