This authentic brickmaker's café is sure to charm you. With the bar from 1930, the Leuven stove and the cozy interior, it seems as if you are going back in time. When the weather is nice, you can enjoy a nice local beer on the terrace.
Café De Koophandel was passed on from generation to generation. The story of café Koophandel starts with Mieke 'the cross-eyed', who had two daughters Emma and Liske. Emma bought the café in 1920. Emma's daughter Gusta, in turn, was behind the bar from 1963. In 1988 Maria Goudry took over the café and now her daughter, Sheila Lauwers, is behind the bar.
