The municipal park was built in the period 1928-1929 to a design by Paul Hasaerts. Together with the buildings of the Provincial Technical Schools (PTS) and the surrounding garden district, it was considered at the time as the total project with the name 'Boomsche Beekbosschen Tuinwijk'.
In the pictorial garden you can see sculptures by the Flemish artists George Minne and Ernest Wijnants.
The northeastern part of the park of Boom shows a landscape-romantic structure with paths along various deciduous trees (pedunculate oak, horse chestnut, weeping willow and maple). The Bosbeek is the lifeline that runs through the park. The recreational part of the park houses, among other things, sports fields, a playground and a play forest.
