El parque municipal se creó entre 1928 y 1929 según un diseño de Paul Hasaerts. Junto con los edificios de las Escuelas Técnicas Provinciales (PTS) y la urbanización del jardín circundante, en ese momento se consideraba el proyecto total con el nombre de ‘Boomsche Beekbosschen Tuinwijk’.
En el jardín pictural se pueden ver esculturas de los artistas flamencos George Minne y Ernest Wijnants.
La parte noreste del parque de Boom presenta una estructura paisajística romántica con caminos junto a diferentes árboles de hoja caduca (roble, castaño de indias, sauce llorón y arce). El Bosbeek es la arteria vital que atraviesa el parque. La zona recreativa del parque alberga, entre otros, campos deportivos, un parque infantil y un bosque de juegos.
