The Church of St. John the Baptist dominates the church square and bears witness to a rich past. Here we can beautifully see the evolution over time of the use of iron sandstone. The oldest part is the choir, built around 1439. Here, the brown iron sandstone from the region prevails. But during the renovation of the tower and central stream, around 1666, a lot of white sand-lime brick from Gobertange was already used. Not only was the white color of the Gobertange stone more beautiful, but the stone was also stronger. The stones were certainly transported over the nearby Demer.
